Epicyt Pharma AB is a Gothenburg-based pharmaceutical R&D company whose development effort is focused on intestinal calcium absorption and how this affects the bone health. The company was founded in 2016 when Lars Fändriks (MD, PhD and Professor in integrative physiology at the Sahlgrenska Academy) and Ville Wallenius (MD, PhD and Associate Professor at the Sahlgrenska Academy) together with a group of investors decided to exploit their discovery research.

BAFA

BAFA, with the active substances glycocholate (a bile acid) and butyrate (a fatty acid), is intended for the treatment of decreased calcium absorption after RYGB surgery. Research shows that patients have an 80% reduced absorption of calcium already one year post surgery. Read more >>
